LanghornePortrait8x10.jpgHenry Langhorne, former Poet Laureate of Northwest Florida, is author of thirteen books of poetry: Tombigbee (1999), Listen to the River (2001), Winter Clothes (2003), The Clarity of Last Things (2005), As Fate Would Have It (2007), In the Country of Rain (2009), The Lay of the Land (2011), and The Canebrake Collection (2013), In Search of Solitude (2015), Light is Life (2017), Four West (2018), From Green's View (2019), and From Uniontown (in press). Listen to the River is currently out of print, but you may order his other books at this Web site.                      

Henry Langhorne's boyhood home was in Uniontown, Alabama, a small town in a stretch of rich cotton land known as the Black Belt near the Tombigbee River.  He is a graduate of The University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee, and Tulane Medical School.  His internship, residency, and cardiology fellowship were done at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. As the senior member of Cardiology Consultants, he has practiced cardiology in Pensacola, Florida, since 1963.

LindaWasserman.jpgLinda Wasserman is a Pensacola area writer and is the owner, publisher, and editor of Pelican Press of Pensacola. Linda’s writing and editing experience started in high school where she worked on her school newspaper and yearbook and won her senior class poetry contest. Since then, she has worked as a newspaper proofreader, newspaper assistant editor, feature writer, columnist, newsletter editor, Web site editor and writer, as well as publisher. She also has had a version of her psychology master’s thesis published in an international journal, and, as a result, was invited to write a chapter on the same subject, “Biblical Behavior Modification,” in the 2002 edition of the Encyclopedia of Psychotherapy
